22 Burmese nationals and 33 others arrested in Malaysia
Malaysia Correspondent: Police arrested 33 persons including 22 Burmese nationals for being involved in sorts of crimes and not having valid documents at their hand in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
They were arrested during a crackdown conducted by police and law enforcement authorities under the OPS Total law enforcement of Kuala Lumpur. Earlier, the law and order departments conducted operation against human traffickers, gangsters, drug traders, illegal migrants and traders without license. This operation will be continued till next 26th of January.
This operation was conducted jointly with Land Public Transport Commission, Customs, National Anti-drug Agency, Immigration, Civil Defense Division, Communication and Road Division, UNHCR, National Registration Department, Cooperative and Consumerism Ministry of Malaysia.
Malaysian Central Police Chief Assistant Commissioner, R. Munushami said, 22 persons have been apprehended recently for being involved in drugs crimes and 30 persons for being illegal migrants and 1 person for being alleged in human trafficking.
He further said, “We have interrogated 202 arrests, among them 22 persons are Burmese nationals, 5 persons India, 2 persons Bangladeshi and 1 Nepali national”.
The people were arrested since they failed to show their valid documents during interrogation, according to the news published in National Straight Times media.
