ပထမဦးဆံုးျမန္မာကျပား ျဗိတိန္ပါလီမန္အမတ္

ေပါလ္စကူေလသည္ ပထမဦးဆံုးျမန္မာကျပား ျဗိတိန္ပါလီမန္အမတ္ျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ေပါလ္၏ဖခင္သည္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံတြင္ေမြးဖြားခဲ့ပါသည္။ ေပါလ္သည္ ဘာလေခ်ာင္ေၾကာ္ႏွင့္ လက္သုတ္တို႔ကိုစားသံုးျပီး ရန္ကုန္ျမိဳ႔မွဘဝဇာတ္လမ္းမ်ားအေၾကာင္းကို နားေထာင္ရင္း ၾကီးျပင္းလာခဲ့သူျဖစ္ပါသည္။ ယခုႏွစ္ေမလတြင္ က်င္းပခဲ့ေသာ ျဗိတိန္ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြတြင္ ေပါလ္သည္ ပါလီမန္အမတ္အျဖစ္ေရြးေျမွာက္ခံခဲ့ရပါသည္။

“ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြသတင္းေတြကိုကၽြန္ေတာ္အျမဲနားေထာင္ပါတယ္။ မဲဆြယ္စည္းရုံးမႈေတြက တက္ၾကြျပီး စိတ္ဝင္စားစရာေကာင္းပါတယ္။ ႏိုဝင္ဘာလ(၈)ရက္ေန႔မွာ က်င္းပမယ့္ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြက သမိုင္းဝင္အခိုက္အတန္႔ျဖစ္မယ္လို႔ေမွ်ာ္လင့္ပါတယ္။ ျပည္သူအမ်ားစုက ေရြးေကာက္ပဲြဟာ လြတ္လပ္ျပီးမွ်တမႈရွိမရွိကို စိတ္ပူေနၾကတာကို ကၽြန္ေတာ္သိပါတယ္။ ဒါေပမယ့္သင့္ရဲ႔အသံကိုၾကားေစခ်င္တယ္ဆုိရင္ သင့္အေနန႕ဲသြားေရာက္မဲေပးဖို႔ အေရးၾကီးပါတယ္”

Paul Scully is Britain’s first MP of Burmese Heritage. His father was born in Burma and he grew up on a diet of balachaung (fried dried shrimp and chilli) and lattthoat (Burmese noodle and potato salad), listening to stories about life in Rangoon. Paul was elected to Parliament in the British election in May this year. 

“I am following the Burmese elections closely. It has been a vibrant and interesting campaign. I hope the elections on 8th November will be an historic moment. I know many people have concerns about whether the elections will be free and fair, but if you want your voice heard, it’s important to go and vote.
